Section Leaders

Flute

Vanessa Cassidy (she/her)

Vanessa Cassidy is a flute player from Duncan, Oklahoma, majoring in music education and performance. She is entering her second year in Green Brigade. She loves playing tennis, cooking/baking, and exploring new places and things! A fun fact about her is that she was a ballerina for 8 years, and is a pro at winning Instagram giveaways!

Audrey Gates (she/her)

Audrey Gates is entering her third year in the Green Brigade. She is a music education major from Albuquerque, New Mexico and she plays the flute. A fun fact about her is that she might have been a chef in her past life. Her hobbies outside of music include making rap videos with her twin, drinking coffee, and playing soccer.


Clarinet

Nicholas Pfister (he/him)

Nicholas Pfister is a clarinet section leader entering his third year at UNT as a music education major. Nick is from Bridge City, TX. Fun Fact: Outside of music, Nick is a Resident Assistant on campus at Santa Fe/Traditions.

Sydney Ramos (she/her)

Sydney Ramos is a clarinet section leader beginning her third year as a music education major at UNT and member of the Green Brigade. She’s from Corpus Christi, and enjoys watching movies, playing games on her Switch, traveling, and playing piano. A fun fact about her is that she has two really adorable dogs.


Saxophone

Alyssa Clowdus (she/her)

Alyssa Clowdus, known as Clouds, is a fourth-year human development and family sciences major. She plays the alto saxophone, and this is her fourth year in the Green Brigade. From Mountain Springs, Texas, she enjoys hanging out with her dog Duchess, skateboarding, and traveling (safely)! A fun fact about her is that she is a 2021 Orientation Leader and is an Eagle Ambassador!

Sam Hightower (he/him)

Sam Hightower is a third-year music education major. He plays the saxophone and is from Austin, Texas. Fun fact: He’s an aspiring intermediate home cook!


Dawson Hassell (he/him)

Dawson Hassell is a senior Music Education student from Mansfield, Texas. This will be his fourth year in GB and his primary instrument is Saxophone. A fun fact about him is that he loves to watch soccer and his favorite team is Manchester United!

 

Trumpet

 

Kaylee Brue (she/her)

Kaylee Brue is from Cache, Oklahoma, and is a music education and trumpet performance major entering her third year of GB! In her spare time, she likes to do outdoor pursuits like hiking and rock climbing, and a fun fact about her is that she once fed Lucky (UNT's albino squirrel) a Ritz cracker.

Adam Elmur (he/him)

Adam Elmur is a fourth-year Green Brigade member and trumpet performance/music education major. He is from Austin, Texas, but fun fact, he was born in Canada!


Ian Aigner-Varoz (he/him)

Ian Aigner-Varoz is a third-year music education major and trumpet player. He loves camping, going to the gym, and cooking! He is also a part of the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, where he plays lead trumpet.


Mellophone

Nicole Keller (she/her)

Nicole Keller’s primary instrument is horn and she is a music education major! This will be her third year in the Green Brigade. She is from Fort Worth, Texas, and some of her hobbies are working out and playing with her cat Oscar!

Maya Schmidt (she/her)

Maya Schmidt is a third-year music education major with a horn concentration. She is from San Antonio, Texas. A fun fact about Maya is that she works at Panda Express!


Trombone

Chloe Hall (she/her)

Chloe Hall is a third year music education major and tenor trombone player. She is from Plano, Texas and enjoys cooking, video games, and coffee.

Matthew Wood (he/him)

Matthew Wood is a section leader for the trombone section. From Grapevine, Texas, Matthew is entering his third year as a Music Education major at UNT. Matthew's interests include sports, outdoors, and cooking, and a fun fact about him is that his favorite ice cream flavor is Cookie Dough.


Euphonium

Liam Gompf (he/him)

Liam Gompf is a third-year music education major and euphonium player. He’s been marching Bluecoats since 2019, and in his free time, he likes to work out, cook, and learn as much as he can! He’s super excited to see where this ensemble goes this year.

Finley Muela (he/they)

Finley Muela is a third year music education major, and this is their second year as a leader in the Green Brigade! Finley enjoys skateboarding, playing video games, and petting their cat, Dante. Finley is also a member of the Bluecoats, Beta Gamma Omega, and Kappa Kappa Psi.


Tuba

Blake Martin (he/him)

Blake Martin is a fourth-year Green Brigade tuba player. He is double majoring in Electrical Engineering and Music. He likes to spend his free time playing games with his friends!

Courtney Burgess (she/her)

               

Courtney Burgess is a third-year color guard member and section leader of the Green Brigade, and is really excited to be back! She is from Carrollton, Texas. Grace Leitch (she/her)

               

Grace Leitch is a third-year color guard member in the Green Brigade. She is a music education major, and her primary instrument is the oboe. She is from Dallas, Texas, and some fun facts about her are that she loves pop punk music, bakes cakes for every holiday, and has a maltipoo dog named Cosmo.
